RIA’s December Unlocking Innovation event will be jointly organised with RSSB to see the launch of the new Guidance to Railway for Testing and Validation in Great Britain.
In April 2014, the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) published a Good practice guide for testing and trialling new technology for Britain’s railway. The guide aimed to improve understanding of the process of product introduction and associated testing and was intended as the key reference document for all testing and validation activities.
RSSB is now working with a number of industry stakeholders, including the Railway Industry Association (RIA) to update the document to include novel techniques and tool, such as simulation and virtual validation, as well as the expanded UK capabilities with new railway testing centres either opened or in development.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the changes in the new guidance and meet the organisations offering testing and validation capabilities.
