University of Leeds are advertising one fully funded PhD studentship in The Economics of Rail Transport, with enhanced stipend, at the Institute for Transport Studies.
This fully funded PhD provides an exciting opportunity to pursue postgraduate research in railway economics, supervised by leading researchers in the field. The source of the funding is Horizon Europe, and specifically the EU-Rail Joint Undertaking (project name: PhDs EU-Rail), which also give opportunities to interact with railways from across Europe.
The studentship is open to applicants eligible for Home fees, covering tuition fees plus an enhanced maintenance stipend of the usual annual UKRI stipend of £19,237, plus an extra £1763 per year – a total of £21000 per year (based on the 2024/25 UKRI stipend rate).
