Rail Alliance, BCRRE and Crowe “Prepare for Brexit Workshops”

The Rail Alliance, supported by the Birmingham Centre for Railway Research and Education (BCRRE) is running a series of free “Brexit-Ready” workshops across the country aimed at businesses in the rail and transport manufacturing sectors and supply chain.

BCRRE Rail Alliance rail supply-chain experts, alongside Rail Forum Midlands and leading audit, tax, advisory and risk firm, Crowe, will run the specialist workshops, which will encourage businesses to prepare for the changes that Brexit will bring.

The workshops will provide practical, straightforward guidance and take-away actions in the fields of business process and regulation, and will include planning for all Brexit scenarios. We will discuss the changes Brexit could have on businesses, including the impact on supply chains, VAT and tariffs, people matters, cross-border trade and cash flow management/finance

Rachel Eade MBE, Business Engagement Manager at the University of Birmingham said, “The Rail Alliance is committed to supporting the rail and transport sectors supply chain with up-to-date information and access to support in this quickly changing arena. Understanding the actions required and being able to prioritise them is essential for all businesses.”

The half day workshops will take place in the following locations and dates:

  • Monday 7 October, Crowe offices, Oldbury, West Midlands
  • Wednesday 9 October, Rail Forum Midlands, University of Derby
  • Monday 14 October, Crowe offices, London
  • Tuesday 15 October, Crowe offices, Reading
  • Thursday 17 October, Acuity Law offices, Cardiff
  • Monday 21 October, Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow
  • Wednesday 23 October, Crowe offices, Manchester
  • Thursday 24 October, The Earl Hotel, Doncaster
  • Thursday 24 October, National Railway Museum, York.

Jonathan Dudley, Midlands & South West Managing Partner, Crowe said, “Brexit will present possibly the biggest peacetime challenge to business in modern times and it’s therefore essential to be prepared for all eventualities. We are delighted to help businesses in the Rail and wider sectors to identify the pitfalls and plan routes to avoid them.”

Elaine Clark, Chief Executive Officer, Rail Forum Midlands said: “These Brexit preparedness events are really important and we would strongly encourage our members and the wider supply chain to take advantage of them. We all need to be ready for 31st October!”

Our workshops will be of value to individuals of all levels and experience as we will cover both strategic steps as well as possible actions that can be implemented prior to Brexit.
