UKRRIN INSPIRE: How can we deliver RTS 2024?

Since its inception, the RTS has driven coordinated action in topical areas of technical development.

Updated routemaps for the five industry-agreed RTS functional priorities are being released this year to reflect new opportunities, such as the freight growth target, and highlight the steps needed to make tangible, significant progress towards the 2040 vision.

UKRRIN and the Centre of Excellence in Rolling Stock (CERS) invite you to attend a one-day event, to celebrate success and explore new opportunities to collaborate on the delivery of the Rail Technical Strategy (RTS).

AGENDA HIGHLIGHTS

We will explore the refreshed routemaps setting out industry-agreed goals in the areas of: Low emissions, Optimised Train Operations and Efficient and Reliable Assets and hear thoughts from industry leaders:

  • Abi Hayes, (Director Public Transport and Rail Strategy and Rail Analysis), Department for Transport
  • Luisa Moisio (Director of Research), Rail Safety and Standards Board
  • Clive Burrows (Group Engineering Director), First Group
  • John Edgley (Chief Track and S&C Engineer), Network Rail
  • David Horne (Managing Director), LNER
  • Ian Duncan (Head of Siemens Mobility Rolling Stock Engineering Life Cycle), Siemens Mobility

These leaders will reflect on the role of the RTS, and collaborative efforts between academia and suppliers, to consider how both help the rail industry deliver the railway our customers want and need. We will also showcase ongoing research in each priority area, with opportunities to engage with research teams, create synergies and consider new strategies and partnerships to advance industry goals.

Don’t miss out on your opportunity to join the conversation.
