How do we reduce the cost of railway infrastructure, from under the wheels to overhead electrification?
A one-day, free conference for industry and academia on reducing the cost of railway infrastructure through innovation.
As well as infrastructure in general we shall give particular attention to freight, which is important in the context of multimodal transport and economic growth, and has its own peculiar infrastructure requirements. Contributions on signalling, digital and rolling stock issues are also invited.
Introduced by journalist Paul Clifton, speakers include:
- Olly Glover MP, member of the Transport Select Committee
- Maggie Simpson, Director General of the Rail Freight Group
- Andrew McNaughton, former Network Rail Chief Engineer
- Professor William Powrie, leading railway infrastructure researcher
