UKRRIN is governed by a Steering Committee which meets bi-monthly to discuss the activities and development of the network as a whole.
Top Five updates from February’s Meeting:
Steering Committee Membership:
Two new members have joined the Committee in place of colleagues who have left their respective businesses:
– Satnam Thiara, representing Network Rail
– Andrew Hunter, representing Thales
UKRRIN Membership Model:
A review of the current model is underway led by the UKRRIN Engagement and Outreach pillar.
Bid for Two New Centres of Excellence:
A bid has been submitted to Research England for funding for two new Centres of Excellence:
- Centre of Excellence for Railway Testing, Validation and Customer Experience
(to be based South Wales) - Centre of Excellence for Railway Through-Life Engineering (to be based at Goole and GCRE)
Centre of Excellence Programme Management Boards:
The Centre of Excellence Programme Management Boards are to be replaced by a quarterly Industry Advisory Board meeting which all UKRRIN partners will be invited to attend.
UKRRIN Steering Committee Strategy Review:
This review is progressing with actions identified, being considered and implemented for the Steering Committee, The UKRRIN Innovation Hub (Doncaster), and the Strategic Pillars supporting the network.
